Medical hairpieces

Do you have a hair problem, hair disease or other condition? We work together with health insurers to get a custom-made wig reimbursed, for example.

Carmen and Mandy Markiet are the certified hair specialists in the salon. All our hair pieces are made of real hair, which gives a natural look.

In addition to aesthetic wishes for a hairpiece, there may also be underlying medical reasons. Think of hair diseases such as alopecia, or hair loss due to chemotherapy, the obsessive-compulsive disorder trichotillomania, stress, the after-effects of a gastric bypass (stomach reduction) or the corona virus.

In these cases, there is a very good chance that your GP will prescribe a referral letter. If you have a referral letter from your doctor, you can come to us for an intake interview, where we will discuss all the options with you without obligation.

If you are reimbursed for a hairpiece or wig by your health insurance, the basic amount this year is €465, and in 2025 the basic amount is €485. If you have additional insurance, you are entitled to a higher reimbursement.

Please contact your health insurer to find out what the additional amount is, as this varies per health insurer and per package.

Please note, you are entitled to a new hairpiece every year!

Medical hairpieces: the steps

You notice hair loss and call your doctor for a consultation

You will receive a referral letter and call the salon for an intake interview. +31104772951 or +31651539026

During the intake interview we will discuss all options together in our separate hairdressing room.

Together we will complete an intake form regarding all your wishes.

We will submit the application to your health insurance company on your behalf and contact you upon receipt.

Your hairpiece will be made to your wishes and we will schedule a delivery date.

You will receive all necessary information upon delivery.

After 6 to 8 weeks we will call you for a short evaluation regarding your satisfaction with your hairpiece.
